Cultivating Healthy Community

This week March 14:
open Thursday and Friday 1 to 6 pm
Saturday 11 am to 3 pm
Hi All,
A year ago at this time Craig Johnson generously donated the use of two lots at Third and Carbonate in Hailey for a community garden. We built raised beds, brought in compost and top soil and 9 members of the community had plots with which to raise food. Now these lots have been sold, a new home will be built, and consequently our community garden is looking for a new home. If any one has land in town or knows of some vacant land that might be available for use as a community garden please call Dick at 309-1447.
Next Tuesday March 19 at 6 pm at SBG is the next class in our vegetable gardening course. Paddy will be teaching us all about growing tomatoes successfully in the Wood River Valley …… a challenge to say the least. Paddy has bred some of his own cultivars specific to our area, and is constantly carrying on trials and saving seeds. It should be an informative evening. The cost is $30 for the two hours with refreshments.
Last week Cheri started baking her sourdough bread again, and we sold out immediately. She plans to have fresh bread on both Thursday and Friday so come early to get a loaf. We'll also have some of her ginger snap cookies.
All the best,
Melinda & Dick
