Cultivating Healthy Community

This week April 4:
open Thursday and Friday 1 to 6 pm
Saturday 11 am to 3 pm
Hi All,
Last week we opened up one of the sheep's milk cheeses that we brought back from Lark's Meadow Farms in Rexburg. People loved it and we sold the entire wheel by week's end. This week we will offer up a wheel of the cow's milk cheese. The cheese is made from the milk of brown swiss cows which has a higher percent of butter fat than say Holstein milk which is the milk from which most commercial cheese is made.
Cheri Drougas has been baking her delicious sourdough bread, and while some of you know she is away this week visiting her sister in Portland she still baked some bread ahead of time. We won't have much this week, so come early if you want a loaf.
We are still set up for seed starting in the garden room, so if you want to try your hand at making soil blocks, come by during business hours and we will show you how. You can make a whole tray…..36 blocks….for $9.00.
If you are interested in keeping chickens we have young layers for sale and can show you how to build a coop and run. The nutritional benefits of having your own egg supply are huge.
And oh, yes……guess what kind of dog team won the 1000 mile Iditarod race in Alaska this year….a DYNAMITE dog team of course. Mitch Seavey, the winning musher, feeds all of his dogs our wonderful Dynamite dog food. Come by The Center and give your dog the best gift ever for his health and well being.
All the best, Dick, Melinda and Cheri
