This week May 1:
open Wednesday to Friday 1 to 6 pm
Saturday 11 am to 2 pm

Hi All,

Well, there is big news from The Center this week. Melinda and I have sold The Center to Al and Stephanie McCord. This is exciting and while Melinda and I will stay involved at the Center the McCords will be in charge. This influx of youth, enthusiasm, and energy will will be a big plus for The Center. Some of you will know Stephanie as the executive director of the Sawtooth Botanical Garden, and Al has worked for Haden Beverage and is well connected in the Valley's food community. Please come by and introduce yourself to Al this week. As you can see one of his first decisions is to be open more days of the week. The new summer hours are 12 to 6 Wednesday through Friday and Saturday from 10 to 2.

We have a new source for raw cow's milk!! Al and I visited a young couple who are milking Jersey cows. The cows are pastured at all times, eat no grain, so the milk is GMO free. We brought back 5 gallons of milk and next week we will get 10 gallons. We can access more if the demand develops. The milk is packaged in half gallon containers…plastic this week….but glass bottles in the future. The milk is truly a superior product, and will sell for $6.00/half gallon.

Also this week we have a new supply of thick sliced bacon, and some great local hamburger patties. The bacon sells at $7.00/ lb. and the burger at $5.00/lb. We also have some locally produced salami.

We just bottled up some more Quigley honey so if you need some for allergy control start using it before it gets dry and dusty.

When you come to pick up dog food, we now have some really good dog bones for a canine treat.

Cheri has started baking some specialty breads as well as her fabulous sourdough so come early to treat yourself.

This will be the last email authored by us. Al and/or Stephanie will be writing these in the future. We want to thank all of you for the wonderful support and friendships you have brought to us through the years. We will continue to be dedicated to the concept of a food sustainable Wood River Valley, and will be involved in future projects that support this. And of course you will continue to see us at The Center for awhile helping Al and Stephanie ease into their new "home". They are so dedicated to the ideas we have tried to promote as well as having a whole lot of wonderful new plans for The Center that make this transition so fabulous.

All the best, Dick and Melinda
